Spectacular Special Effects (Review of SUPER 8)

Super 8 filmmaker reminded today that the expensive special effects, 3D glasses, massive explosions and spectacular action scenes will be useless if the audience is less familiar and do not care about the characters involved in it (such as Charles explained to Joe why they need to add character Hathaway detective’s wife in their amateur zombie short film). Rope empathy between the audience with the characters on the big screen need is established, and Super 8 run simple grip it perfectly. We are invited to recognize the familiar gang of teen Lilian, Ohio who became the main character of this movie, come to feel excited about the film project they’re working with Super 8 film camera (like the title of this movie), laughed at their innocence and tragedy sorry to hear that happened to their beloved families. It could be argued the relationship between teenage characters are the real core of this movie ..
Apart from that solid storytelling and Engaging wrapped with spectacular special effects, Super 8 also successful because of the brilliant acting of the ensemble of young actors who practically unknown before (except Elle Fanning, younger sister of Dakota Fanning).
